You will explore Marrakech and Fez Imperial cities and cross the High Atlas Mountains to the beautiful south of Morocco and learn about the Berber culture, their hospitality and their lifestyle also visit the most fabulous Sahara Desert of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi), enjoy the camel ride for sunset in the Desert and drive through the beautiful palm groves oases. You will drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains range and the Moroccan little Switzerland towards Fez city.
Upon your arrival to Marrakech Airport, you will meet your driver holding a sign with your name and drive you to your Riad or Hotel, after your check-in at your accommodation you can have a walk through the old city of Marrakech (the Medina) depending on your arrival time.
Today you will meet your English speaking local guide at your hotel and walk to discover the beautiful Medina of Marrakech. Your knowledgeable guide will be with you for a half-day tour to explore the souks and visit the historical monuments such as the Ben Youssef Madrassa, the world-famous Jemaa el Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia and Badii Palaces.
You will end your half-day at a nice restaurant in the old city for lunch before you picked up by your driver to visit the Majorelle garden of Yves Saint-Laurent and the new city of Marrakech. Today you will finish your tour around 5 pm.
You will be picked up by your English speaking driver from your accommodation in Marrakech and drive you crossing the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka pass 2260m, one of the most beautiful roads of Morocco. There will be some stops for nice panoramic pictures along the way and continue forwards the fortified Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the birthplace of numerous films, including The Mummy, Gladiator, 7 Days in Tibet, Lawrence of Arabia, Alexander the Great, and Babel. After the visit of the Kasbah, we continue our way to Ouarzazate The gateway to the desert, visiting the Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studios. After then we take The Road of thousand Kasbahs passing by skoura, the small oasis of palm groves and olives. Not too far from here lies the Kalaat of M’Gouna (Rose valley), which is known for its roses that get blooming from April to May.you drive eastward of the valley to reach Dades gorges to overnight.
Overnight at a nice hotel on half board
This morning after breakfast you will drive to the Toudra gorges; here you will face one of the most impressive oases in the country, and sense a beautiful contrast of the landscapes. you are going to walk through the spectacular gorge where rocks towelling above 300m, while the passage is only 30m wide; famous for rock climbing. After the walk, you drive to the Merzouga which boasts the most beautiful and fabulous sand dunes (Erg Chebbi), 150 meters high. Before you set for the camel ride on your arrival to the hotel, you pack a small bag for the night in the camp, your luggage stays at the hotel and start your adventure on camelback and capture your magical sunset in the middle of the dunes and spend the night at nomadic tent.
You will wake up early this morning for the sun rise and ride the camels back to the hotel, where a breakfast and a deserved nice hot shower await. Depart towards the beautiful Ziz oasis and cross the most mysterious mountains and landscapes. You will have lunch in Midelt town, which links the High Atlas Mountains and the Middle Atlas range. You will also cross the biggest green cedar forest in Morocco; here you will have a picture stop for Barbary apes; before you continue on the way to Fez and Moroccan little Switzerland which is known for the lion sculpture and its European architecture style.
Guided tour of the medina in Fez is a great way to get an inner look into the culture and history of the city. Your guide will take you through the medina of Fez, one of the world’s largest walled cities.
You will meet your guide at your accommodation to explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and much other classic art and souvenirs of Morocco. You will visit the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the Andalusian Mosque dating back to 860. Entry is not permitted to non-Muslims. See the fountains including the Nejjarine Fountain, the Medersa (Koranic schools) founded as early as the 13th century. The Batha Palace which is now a museum of arts and Moroccan traditions and the Chouwara tanneries, the Souks including Souk Attarine, one of the liveliest in the city and Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics. After the tour, you will walk back to your accommodation with your guide.
Today your driver will pick you up from your accommodation to Fes airport, depends on your flight time.
