Along the way, the driver will make several stops to capture panoramic photos.
Your first major stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This iconic location has been the backdrop for numerous films, including The Mummy, Gladiator, 7 Days in Tibet, Lawrence of Arabia, Alexander the Great, and Babel.
After exploring the Kasbah, you’ll continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Door of the Desert.” Here, you will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the local film studios.
From Ouarzazate, the journey proceeds along the famous Road of 1000 Kasbahs, passing through the lush Skoura palm grove and the picturesque Rose Valley in Kalaat M’Gouna, where roses bloom from April to May.
Your day concludes in the stunning Dades Gorge, where you’ll rest and prepare for the next leg of your Moroccan adventure.
DAY 2: Dades gorge – Toudra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes
This morning, after breakfast, you will set off for the Toudra Gorges, home to one of the most impressive oases in Morocco. Here, you will walk through a spectacular gorge with towering rock walls that soar over 300 meters high, while the passage itself is just 30 meters wide. This area is renowned for its rock climbing opportunities.
After exploring the gorge, you will continue your journey to the stunning sand dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi), which rise up to 150 meters. Upon arrival at your hotel, you will pack a small bag for an overnight stay at a desert camp, leaving your main luggage at the hotel. Then, embark on a camel ride to witness the magical sunset in the heart of the dunes. You will spend the night in a camp with traditional tents, experiencing the serene beauty of the Sahara.
DAY 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Nqob – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early this morning to witness the spectacular sunrise from the top of the dunes. Afterward, ride your camel back to the hotel, where a hearty breakfast and a well-deserved hot shower await you.
